The currency on Bonaire is the US dollar. There are ATM machines and debit and credit cards are widely accepted.

Depending the season, we do have mosquitos on Bonaire (less in the windy months (Dec-July), more in the hotter and more humid months (Aug-Nov/Dec). Since we are at a windy spot (especially the penthouses), mosquitos bother us less than in some other places. But still, some repellent might come in handy.

A lot of the flights depart in the evening, while check-out is in the morning. Flexible check-in and check-out times are possible free of charge (based on availability). In case of an early check-in or late checkout without availability of your apartment, you may use our facilities like the storage and changing room, the shower/toilet, swimming pool and pool deck with sunbeds, free of charge.

Windsock THE BEACH and the Bonairian are two beach clubs within a 5 minutes’ walk from Isla. They offer a bar, a restaurant, lounge areas and sun beds with amazing ocean views!

There are a few lovely beaches within a short walk.

– Bachelor’s Beach (250 meters); a small, but very nice sandy beach. This beach is too small to sunbath, but beautiful for swimming. Also, watching the sunset from the picnic area above is a must!

– Donkey Beach (750 meters); a nice, elongated strip of beach with trees. The beach is partly sandy, partly coral/stony. You can relax, swim and snorkel here.

– Te Amo Beach (1.250 meters); a beautiful sandy beach with a coral reef right in front of it. Excellent food trucks are based on all three beaches: King Kong at Bachelor’s Beach, Cactus Blue at Donkey Beach, Kite City & Stoked at Te Amo Beach.

Bonaire doesn’t have public transportation. The island is best explored if you have a rental car or scooter. We are happy to arrange it for you!

We recommend our partner Wannadive, one of the most experienced dive centers on Bonaire, with a new dive center at a 1 minutes’ drive/5 minutes’ walk from Isla. They will provide you with excellent gear, fun, professional courses and the coolest dive trips on the island.

Isla offers rinsing bins to rinse dive and snorkel gear. Each apartment has an outside locker to store (dive or kite) gear. And, the outside shower is perfect to rinse off sand and salt from your skin!

From December up until July are usually the windiest months on Bonaire. When you plan your kite or windsurf vacation during these months, you have a good change to experience amazing sessions on our blue waters! During the other months, you can of course take a bigger sail or kite, so you still can go out on the water during less windy days. Foiling is also possible on Bonaire; you can take lessons or rent a board.

Both spots (windsurf bay Sorobon/Jibe City and kite spot Atlantis) are a 10 minutes’ drive.
